FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas - The Mean Green cross-country teams head to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the 25th Annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival on Saturday, Oct. 5, along with several south-central regional opponents.

The men's collegiate 8K will begin at 9:45 a.m., while the women's 5K will follow the men's race at 10:20 a.m., at Agri Park.

"After four weeks of tough consistent training, a little rest will assure a fresh start to Saturday's race," said coach Stefanie Slekis. "The men have a great opportunity to move up from their current 15th regional ranking, by going head to head with nine schools that are ranked in the top twelve," said Slekis.

The North Texas men's cross-country team is coming off of a first place team finish at the Ken Garland Invitational, were they had their second team win of the season.

On the women' side, Conference USA's Southern Miss, who is regionally ranked, will be the team to race against this weekend. The Mean Green's Jo Adams will be racing against Razorback Stephanie Brown, both whom competed in the 1500 meters at the NCAA's.
