On Tap
North Texas concludes its two-game conference road trip in Bowling Green against WKU. Still looking for its first road win of the season, the Mean Green is looking to snap a four game skid against a 10-win Hilltoppers team that has won its last five. WKU is 3-0 in Sun Belt play this season and its two losses have come against Illinois St. and Vanderbilt, both at home.

The Series
North Texas and Western Kentucky are meeting for the 18th time in series history. The Hilltoppers lead the series 11-6. The Mean Green won the last contest between the two, a 50-42 victory in Denton last January. The Mean Green has never won in Bowling Green with an overall record of 0-8 in E.A. Diddle Arena.

Fresh Start
Freshman Loryn Goodwin got the first start of her career against Middle Tennessee and made the most of it. She put in 12 points on 50% shooting extending her double digit scoring streak to four games, good for an average of 13.8 points over the stretch. She also had five steals, her highest mark in that category since the Arizona game in late November. At her current pace, Goodwin will top the North Texas record book in the steal category with 103 steals and shatter the current freshman record of 82 set by Ramona Black in the 1987-88 season.

Slipping Down The Stretch
The Mean Green was unable to hold onto a halftime lead against Middle Tennessee pushing the NT record with a lead a halftime to 2-6. North Texas has also lost by five points or less in six games this season.

Freshmen Fighters
Loryn Goodwin as well as freshman Alexis Hyder have been flourishing under head coach Mike Petersen's system as both have enjoyed increases in their scoring during the past five games. Goodwin now averages 10.2 while Hyder averages 12.2, good for 33 percent of the team's total scoring output. Along with the point boost, the young guns have helped tremendously on the defensive end as they have combined for 66 steals, 49 percent of the team's total, and Hyder has thrown in 13 blocks underneath for the Mean Green.
