Golden Eagles Too Much For Mean Green

TULSA, Okla. - The North Texas women's basketball team couldn't slow down the high powered offense of Oral Roberts as they ran away from the Mean Green for a 120-87 win at the Mabee Center. The Golden Eagles broke a school record for points with 120 as that mark is also the most points allowed by North Texas in a single game.

The Mean Green (1-1) opened the game with a 7-0 run but Oral Roberts (2-0) responded with a 16-4 run over the next five minutes to take a 16-11 lead. The Golden Eagles kept the pressure on as the extended their lead 16 at the break at 54-38.

In the second half North Texas cut the Oral Roberts lead to 12 at 81-69 with 10 minutes left in the game, but the Golden Eagles responded with a 24-5 run over the next five minutes to pull away.

The Mean Green tried to stay in the game with the help of 10 3-pointers, but the Golden Eagles were able to force 30 North Texas turnovers.

Preseason Summit League Player of the Year Kevi Luper finished with a game-high 36 points as Oral Roberts had six players score in double figures.

North Texas had three players score in double figures led by Jasmine Godbolt who had a team-high 19 points.

North Texas returns to action on November 21 at George Washington.
