North Texas Women's Basketball Adds Bailey In Early Signing Period

DENTON (11/8/06) The North Texas women’s basketball team signed one player to a National Letter of Intent Wednesday on the first day of the early signing period. The Mean Green added Brittani Bailey, a 6-2 post from Alvin, Tex. Bailey averaged 12.8 points and 9.6 rebounds as a junior last season, when she was named to the District 24-5A first-team.

“Brittani is a great sign for our program,” said North Texas head coach Tina Slinker. “Her athleticism and size will add to our depth in the post.  Brittani is just going to get better and better.  Her potential it totally in front of her and will certainly have the ability to be a force in the paint.  We are very excited to have her as part of our family”.

Along with Bailey, point guard Yari Escalera will join the Mean Green for the 2007-08 season. Escalera is a transfer from the University of Colorado and will sit out the 2006-07 season per NCAA transfer rules. News
