Mean Green Face UALR Tuesday Night

DENTON, Texas - The North Texas women's basketball team will close out the regular season on the road at UALR on Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 5:15 from the Jack Stephens Center and the game can be heard on 88.1 FM KNTU.

The game against UALR will have no seeding implications for North Texas in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament as they will face Western Kentucky on Saturday at 12 p.m. in Hot Springs. The winner advances to face Denver in the quarterfinals on Sunday at 12:15 p.m.

North Texas has won each of its last two first-round games in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament the last two seasons.

For North Texas this season despite on winning five games, they have played a number of close contests that could have gone either way. The Mean Green has played in 14 games this season decided by 10 points or less.

North Texas has lost eight games this season by six points or less.  In Sun Belt Conference play the Mean Green has lost six of its 12 games by six points or less. In all six games, the Mean Green has had a lead in the second half except against UALR on December 30.

North Texas and UALR are meeting for the 19th time in series history.  The series is tied at 9-9. The Trojans however have won eight straight games against North Texas in the series. UALR won the first meeting this season in Denton 59-54 as they held off a late North Texas rally.

The last Mean Green win over UALR came in 2006, a 60-43 win in Little Rock. The Mean Green is 4-5 on the road at UALR.
