Basketball Programs to Host Annual Youth Clinic Dec. 19

Dec. 8, 2015

More than 200 local children participated in last year's free youth clinic.

DENTON - North Texas basketball coaches Tony Benford and Jalie Mitchell will host a free youth basketball clinic from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, from the Physical Education Building on UNT’S campus.

Sixth grade and under youth basketball players and others are encouraged to attend. NCAA regulations require basketball clinics be limited to sixth grade and under.

Participants will have an opportunity to learn skills and practice techniques from Mean Green coaches and players. Youth coaches and parents are also encouraged to attend.

All clinic-goers will receive a voucher redeemable for complimentary admission to the North Texas doubleheader on Tuesday, Dec. 29, when the women take on Oklahoma Panhandle State at 5:30 p.m. and the men play host to Sam Houston State at 8 p.m.

The first 300 participants to register beginning at 8:30 a.m. on the morning of December 19 will receive a free T-shirt (quantities and sizes as available). Other giveaway items will also be distributed, including a North Texas logoed lunchbox courtesy of Southwest Dairy Farmers.
