NT Hosting Old Dominion Saturday In Play For Kay Game

DENTON, Texas –The North Texas women’s basketball team is back at home Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. to face off with Old Dominion on in the annual Play for Kay game. The game can also been seen on Fox Sports Southwest. 

The game will feature information from the Susan G. Komen organization about breast cancer and fans will be provided with a pink ribbon.  Performing the National Anthem will be the Voices of Hope, all of whom are breast cancer survivors affiliated with Susan G. Komen of North Texas, located in Plano.

 North Texas and Old Dominion are meeting for the first time in series history. The Mean Green is trying to bounce back after a heartbreaking loss on the road to Tulane, 56-55 on Wednesday night.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, in partnership with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation, is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women’s cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.

Kay Yow, former North Carolina State University head women’s basketball coach, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987, and passed away on January 24, 2009, after facing her third bout with the disease. To date, the Fund has contributed over $3.8 million in support of women's cancer research.
