This collection contains the records and manuscripts of the publications of the University of North Texas Press.
Administrative/Biographical History
The University of North Texas Press was founded in 1987. The Press published its first book in 1989. The press is a fully accredited member of the Association of American University Presses. The Press publishes roughly fifteen to twenty books a year. Its emphasis is on military history, Texana, history, western history, music studies, biography, folklore, and multicultural topics. It publishes both academic and popular interest books.
Frances "Fran" Brannen Vick was one of the founders and former director of the UNT Press. In 2000 Ron Chrisman became the director of the UNT Pres.
