Alumni Awards

 


Each spring the Alumni Awards are presented to alumni to honor their outstanding achievement, service and support of UNT. Descriptions of these awards are listed below.

Distinguished Alumna/Alumnus Award
First presented in 1965, this is the university's most prestigious award. It is given to individuals for their distinguished professional prominence and extraordinary contributions to society which have elevated the reputation of the university.

Distinguished Young Alumna/Alumnus Award
New for 2011, this award recognizes alumni age 40 and under who have distinguished themselves in their work, their community and/or commitment to the university.

Outstanding Alumna/Alumnus Service Award
First presented in 1974, this award honors individuals for their exemplary service and loyal support for the university.
 
Ulys Knight Spirit Award
Presented since 1975, this award is given to an individual or group that has made exceptional efforts to build spirit and support among the university family. Named for a 1928 graduate who was a member of the North Texas championship basketball team and was known as "Mr. North Texas."
