Academic Interests

Assist students interested in learning Financial and Managerial Accounting in a way that furthers their individual educational goals while furthering the reputation and prestige of the Accounting Department at the University of North Texas.

Biography

Richard T. Carroll, CPA, CIA, CISA, has been an Accounting Lecturer at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas since 2014. He received his Masters in Professional Accounting from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas after being awarded a BS in Mathematics from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. Prior to joining the faculty at UNT, his University teaching experience included teaching Accounting at the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. Carroll has over 43 years of professional experience in both Industry and Public Accounting. He started his corporate career with Arthur Andersen’s audit practice in the Fort Worth, Texas office. His most recent position was Vice President of Finance for an Oil and Gas service company in New Mexico where he helped guide the company through three private equity sale transactions and four take-over purchases.

Richard has been an active CPA in the State of Texas since 1976, an active CIA since 2006, and an active CISA since 2006. He is a member of the AICPA, the TSCPAs, the IIA, and ISACA. His teaching interests include managerial and financial accounting as well as information technology for accounting.
