STUTTGART, Germany - Mercedes Wild, the child featured in the German-American friendship story "Mercedes and the Chocolate Pilot," signs books at the Kelley Theater on Kelley Barracks October 13, 2010. The event was part of the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) Educational Outreach Program. Wild shared her experience as a child during the Berlin Airlift in 1948 and of U.S. Air Force pilot Colonel Gail Halverson, who dropped thousands of tons of candy into the hands of German children. Wild will also be featured in the Tell Me a Story program at Robinson Barracks where children will be introduced to living history October 14, 2010.
