Dr. D. Tyler McQuade joined DARPA as a program manager in the Defense Sciences Office in 2013. In his current DARPA role as a Program Manager he is overseeing programs in the physical sciences area. Current programs tend to be process oriented and range from surface coatings to small molecule synthesis.
Prior to joining DARPA, Dr. McQuade was a tenured professor at a Tier 1 chemistry department. Over his academic career he authored over 80 manuscripts (H-Factor = 30), patents and book chapters. His research interests have focused on the synthesis of small and macromolecules using continuous chemistry and catalysis.
Dr. McQuade was an NIH Post-doctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received a Doctor of Philosophy in Organic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Biology from the University of California – Irvine.
