NEA's Read Across America

Read Across America

Mark your calendars: March 1, 2013 is NEA's Read Across America Day

The Cat in the Hat is Back!

"Grab your Hat and Read with the Cat" will be the 2013 theme of NEA's Read Across America celebration as we return to the beloved Dr. Seuss tale of mischief and celebrate the joy of reading across the nation on Friday, March 1, this year's official Read Across America Day.

We're busy putting together new resources and materials and will be posting them in the coming weeks and the Cat is getting ready to hit the road, plus the Read Across America team will soon have a new Read Across America calendar poster, new certificates, bookmarks and other resources for your celebrations.

And stay tuned for new and exciting announcements from NEA's read Across America as we celebrate our 16th year of building a nation of readers and sharing our love of reading.

About NEA’s Read Across America

The National Education Association is building a nation of readers through its signature program, NEA’s Read Across America. Now in its 16th year, this year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources.

"You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read with a child."
