ADAZI, Latvia -- Brig. Gen. Kevin McNeely, deputy of the U.S. European Command Policy, Strategy, Partnering, and Resources directorate, visited a humanitarian civic assistance (HCA) project at Ādaži High School Aug. 21, where North Carolina Air National Guard (ANG) engineers from 145th Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) are finishing a fence installation project.
The project began Aug. 5 when teams from Washington, D.C. (113th CES) and Michigan (110th CES) ANG commenced work on the fence installation. The project is funded as part of the U.S. European Command's Civic Engagement program, and is implemented by the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) Latvia.
The fence installation project, valued at approximately $93,000, is one of two HCA projects the ODC Latvia is completing this year. The second is a roof insulation and replacement project that began at Ogre High School simultaneously (valued at approximately $160,000.00).
