I'm A New IA Sailor

So, you've just found out you're going to mobilize, where do you start?

1. How This Site Is Organized

This site is organized to answer that question by walking you through what you need to know at each of the four stages of the IA lifecycle. You can visit each of those pages, starting with Pre-deployment (Active Component or Reserve Component), to get:

3. What You Need to Know Now

What you really need to know right now, especially if this is your first IA:

• What type of IA you are.
• Who is your CIAC and how will they help you mobilize?
• What do you do when you are notified of your official orders (AC / RC)?
• How do you start screening for mobilization?
• What else do you need to do to prepare yourself for mobilization?
• How can you help your family prepare for mobilization?
• How do you let your civillian employer know that you've been mobilized?

The above information is provided to give you a sense of the IA process. Each individual set of orders will vary, but the process is usually similar for most IAs.

4. What's the Rest of the Big Picture?

• Your Parent Command (especially the CIAC) is responsible for helping you screen and prepare for mobilization.
• You will complete the mobilization process at a Navy Mobilization Processing Site (NMPS).
• After NMPS, you will proceed to training for your mission.
• Once trained, you will start your Boots On Ground (BOG) mission tasking.
• When your BOG is finished, you will demobilize through either the Warrior Transition Program (WTP), NMPS, or both.
• After demobilization, you will reunite with your family -- to include taking advantage of the Returning Warrior Workshop (RWW)   program.
• After demobilization, you will participate in survey programs designed to monitor your physical and mental health and to collect lessons learned from your mobilization.
• After demobilization as a reservist, you will exercise your rights under USERRA and/or VOW/VEI Act to regain or seek new civillian employment.
