Why are there no women instrumentalists in this band? Why has there never been one woman instrumentalist in this band? Do you hold blind auditions? How can ...you in all seriousness claim that you're committed to diversity and inclusion when you have never had a woman instrumentalist among the band's members, and don't hold blind auditions? I'd give you guys a no star review if I could. See More

My Dad was a USAF lifer, a decorated vet of WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. Retired a full bird Col., he now rests in Arlington National Cemetery after passing last ye...ar. As an AF brat, I saw quite a few versions of the Airmen of Note as we transferred around and out of the country. My buddy, a musician like me, got tickets to the show last Fri at Pfeiffer Hall in Naperville, Il. So I went along expecting a very conservative, cornball show, heavy on the Glenn Miller. Man did I get something else! These guys smoked! Every musician on the stand was an ironclad monster! And some very cool, modern arrangements. A tight-ass unit, they swung HARD, and every soloist shone...OMG, the rhythm section...Bassist and drummer just killed! Fine guitarist, too! "Cherokee", blew the roof off the joint! Cool arr. of "Over the Rainbow ", a fine vocalist jumped up too...so, this was not my Grandma 's orchestra here...dug it to the max, and imma be singing their praises til I see em again...thanks fellas for a fabulous nite of music! Here's a new original composition by our musical director Master Sgt. Ben Patterson entitled "To The Top". This was recorded in three settings from our tour over Labor Day weekend. This tune features MSgts Doug Morgan on baritone saxophone and Steve Erickson on keyboard. Thanks to: North Central College, Swingin' at the Shell, and the Detroit International Jazz Festival for having us. (Videography by Staff Sgt. Isaac Garden/ 11WG Public Affairs)

Our brand new recording is here! We pay homage to a few of our amazing arrangers throughout the The United States Air Force Band's 75 year history. We dug through our library and picked some great arrangements by Sammy Nestico, Gil Cray, Mike Crotty, and the recently retired Alan Baylock. Not only does this album represent the heritage of our ensemble but it features every current member. That artistry is on display with our opening track, 'This Is The Airmen of Note'! We hope you enjoy. For a FREE download: http://www.usafband.af.mil/…/cata…/theairmenofnote/index.asp

Here are some pictures from the 2016 National Christmas Tree Lighting. It was a star-studded event. We hope you tune in at 7pm tonight on the Hallmark Channel USA.

Special thanks to our conductor Capt Daniel W. Boothe, who is our Officer-in-charge, for keeping us in sync with the myriad of producers and television operators.
We also want to thank our musical director MSgt Ben Patterson for coordinating all of the music and even arranging a song for Kelly Clarkson's set.

Nathan East - bass, a founding member of the group Fourplay, is one of the most recorded bassist in history. He has played with virtually everybody including Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, and Eric Clapton.

Dean Parks - guitar, is one of the most recorded guitarists in history. He has written music for movies and recorded with Steely Dan, Michael Jackson, and Madonna to name a few.

The broadcast airs tonight at 7pm EST on the Hallmark Channel USA.
