Environmental Assessment for the City of Mesa Fire Station No. 219, Mesa, Arizona (November 2010)

The primary goal of the program is to provide a coordinated effort to stimulate the economy while strengthening homeland security preparedness, and to support fire organizations lacking the tools and resources necessary to effectively protect the health and safety of the public, and their emergency response personnel with respect to fire and all other hazards. The City of Mesa has been awarded a FEMA grant for the construction of its proposed Fire Station No. 219 to meet service demand and to improve response times in the southeastern part of the City of Mesa, Arizona. This Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), the President’s Council on Environmental Quality regulations to implement NEPA (40 Code of Federal Regulations [CFR] Parts 1500–1508), and FEMA regulations implementing NEPA (44 CFR Part 10).
