Debris In Tybee Island

Contractors with the City of Tybee Island have been operating six-days a week in an effort to remove the thousands of cubic yards of tree debris from the city’s streets and parks. Hurricane Mathew resulted in many of the city’s streets being closed due to all the downed trees and limbs across the roadways.

Crews on the island have been working six-days a week in a major effort to remove the thousands of cubic yards of tree debris. The debris removal provides a challenge to the various contractors as many of the island’s streets are narrow and blocks traffic while the work is taking place.
