Luggage is one of those things that everybody has—or needs. But figuring out the best luggage to buy for your needs isn’t easy. For air travel, many travelers are opting to limit their baggage to what they are permitted to bring on board. But that’s sometimes made difficult by the maze of carry-on rules, which vary between domestic and international flights, between airlines, and between aircraft within the same airline. Even if you know the size you want, there are fabrics to consider, closures, wheels, and locks. The Consumer Reports National Research Center has surveyed thousands of consumers about their luggage preferences and needs. The results are provided in our luggage reviews. The Consumer Reports luggage buying guide gives you honest buying advice that you can trust. Along with reading the luggage reviews, use the buying guide to discover which luggage features are important to consider and what you need to look for when you go out to shop for THE best luggage.
