In case of emergencies there is a 24-hour Ambulance Service that provides coverage on base seven days a week. There are three healthcare teams at the Fairchild Family Health Clinic; Falcon, Eagle and Osprey that operate under the Patient Centered Medical Home Model. This model delivers great care with optimal outcomes with a patient centered, holistic approach that focuses on assigning each patient a personal provider who leads a team of individuals at the practice level who collectively take responsibility for the ongoing care of their patients. The personal provider and their team look forward to taking care of you and your family.

FLIGHT AND OPERATIONAL MEDICINE

The Flight and Operational Medicine clinic provides medical care to eligible aircrew and special duty personnel and their families. We also take care of the occupational health needs for base personnel. We look forward to providing care for you and your family.

PEDIATRICS

The Pediatric clinic is the Patient Centered Medical Home for more than 2,000 children ranging from infancy to young adulthood. Our clinic is staffed by two wonderful Pediatric providers, two dedicated nurses and four loyal technicians to make sure that your visit is the best possible. We also offer "walk‐in" appointments for weight checks, testing for strep throat, suture removals and wart treatments (for established patients) 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Point of service immunizations are also given during wellness exams to help cut out your wait times. Moreover, our wellness program will help remind you of when it is time to book that next appointment keeping your children on time with their most necessary check-ups during the first two years of life. We look forward to providing compassionate care for all your rapidly growing family members.

WOMEN'S HEALTH

The Women's Health clinic is operating under the guidance of the DOD, as well as The American Congress of Obstetrics & Gynecology. The Women's Health Clinic provides a broad spectrum of gynecological care services to include evaluation of GYN problems with medical and surgical treatments, contraceptive counseling, sterilization counseling, family planning/contraceptive counseling including IUDs and Nexplanon. Our clinic has two GYN providers. Care referred to local civilian facilities includes infertility services, obstetrical care, and perinatology care for some high risk pregnancies. Our staff strongly believes in healthcare education and promotion. We offer walk-in UTI services and pregnancy testing as well as birth control refill hour. The Pharmacy serves over 30 thousand beneficiaries along with nine clinics. There are two pharmacy pick up locations. The Main Pharmacy is located on the first floor of the Medical Group and fills all new prescriptions to include faxed prescriptions from civilian providers.The Refill Pharmacy is located next to the BX and dispenses called in refill prescriptions only. There is also an automated prescription machine located in the Exchange for refill pick-up.

LABORATORY

The Clinical Laboratory is pleased to provide high quality collection, testing and referral services for all eligible Department of Defense beneficiaries, including pediatric, adult and geriatric populations. The testing provided by the clinical laboratory is fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists and additional testing is shipped, at no additional cost to our patients, to other accredited civilian and DOD reference laboratories. We accept laboratory requests from in-house and off-base providers; some come on in and see what it's like to get an "ouchless" poke from our friendly and professional staff. RADIOLOGY

The Diagnostic Imaging Flight provides medical support for the 92nd and 141st ARWs and tenant units by delivering imaging services to over 30,000 beneficiaries, performing over 4,000 routine image exams annually for 300 health care providers and transmitting over 12,000 images annually through Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) to Travis AFB for interpretation by radiologists. We are partnered with Spokane VA Medical Center and Travis AFB to train in specialty imaging, i.e., fluoroscopy and surgical/ward portables, which are skills needed for up-grade training of newly assigned technicians.

DRUG DEMAND AND REDUCTION PROGRAM

The Drug Demand and Reduction Program (DDR) is a substance abuse prevention program. The program is currently staffed with one Active Duty Senior Noncommissioned Officer, who serves as the program manager, and a civilian staff member who serves as the program testing manager. Their mission is to conduct random drug screenings of all base personnel. They also perform numerous outreach activities to educate base personnel, and their children, about the dangers and consequences of inappropriate and/or illegal use of drugs and illicit substances. "When you come to DDR, urine for a good time."

MENTAL HEALTH

The Mental Health clinic is comprised of three elements: Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment (ADAPT) and the Family Advocacy Program (FAP). The Mental Health flight is staffed by expert clinicians, trained to address the many stressors and issues that impact our quality of life. The Mental Health Element provides treatment to people experiencing prolonged and/or chronic mental health problems. We work with issues that are a normal aspect of human life and no one should be afraid to come see us if they need help. If you have a problem that is impacting your daily life, come see us, we can help!

DENTAL

The Dental clinic functions as the dental home for approximately 3,000 active duty men and women of Fairchild AFB. Our services include the following: annual exams, cleanings, preventive, routine restorative, oral surgery and emergent care. We welcome and provide a caring atmosphere for our patients. For an after-hour dental emergency (severe pain, bleeding, swelling) for which you feel you need to speak with a dentist during non-duty hours or to schedule an appointment, call the dental clinic front desk at 509-247-5820.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

The Physical Therapy Clinic provides quality evidence based care for most musculoskeletal disorders and movement dysfunctions. After a thorough evaluation, our team utilizes therapeutic exercise, joint and soft tissue mobilization/manipulation, and modalities such as cold, heat, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, traction, and ultrasound to improve mobility and decrease pain in order to help restore function. We currently see all adult TRICARE beneficiaries, but when our access to care becomes limited, we may defer dependent/retiree referrals to network physical therapy clinics. We currently do not have the capability to evaluate/treat patients for neurological conditions (i.e., stroke, neuro-muscular disease), wound care, urinary stress incontinence/pelvic floor dysfunction or any pediatric conditions. Your Primary Care Manager or network specialty provider will determine if physical therapy is appropriate for your problem. IMMUNIZATION

The Immunization clinic is located on the first floor between Pediatrics and Family Health. They provide care to all eligible beneficiaries to include both pediatric and adult populations. Small Pox is given every Friday from 7:45 to 8 a.m. TB tests are placed every day of the week except Thursdays. Once placed, the test must be read by 3 p.m. 48 to 72 hours later. This will ensure that if a TB test does come back positive the immunization staff can send that individual to public health for a medical screening. Individuals that will be traveling outside of the US need to report to Public Health to receive a traveler's health report prior to coming to Immunizations, or you may print it off the Center for Disease Control website at http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/list.htm.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS CENTER

ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT

The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment (ADAPT) element of the Mental Health Flight is focused on helping people with substance abuse/addiction problems. The team is comprised of a licensed clinician, and technicians specially trained to work with substance issues. The mission of the Alcohol Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment (ADAPT) program is to provide treatment and prevention services, encourage healthy lifestyles, enhance relationships, and ensure mission readiness. The ADAPT team engages in regular outreach activities to address ever-changing base needs in regards to trends that are being seen in the community, on base, or Air Force wide. The ADAPT clinic is able to provide assessment, education, treatment, and follow-up care to active duty members as well as to dependents on a space available basis. The ADAPT team works closely with medical staff and command to ensure members are getting the treatment they need while continuing to fulfill mission requirements. Additionally, the ADAPT Element has administrative oversight of the base Drug Demand Reduction Program.

FAMILY ADVOCACY

The Family Advocacy Program (FAP) element of the Mental Health Flight addresses the familial and interpersonal aspects of daily living. The team is comprised of a Family Advocacy Officer (FAO), two Treatment Managers (TM), a Family Advocacy Outreach Manager (FAOM), a Family Advocacy Nurse (FAN), a Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA), two Family Advocacy Program Assistants (FAPA's), and an enlisted NCOIC. The FAP team helps members of our AF community manage their interpersonal relationships, whether that is between co-workers, spouses and significant others, and/or children, in a caring and appropriate manner. We also provide education in topics such as Anger and stress management, interpersonal communication, and relationship and parenting skills. If you are having problems with someone you care about or are being challenged by the children in your home, then these are the people to talk to. They can help!

The Veterinary Clinic services only cats or dogs. They are available to Retirees, Reservists, Guard, or members of any Armed Services branch.

Get your best furry friend their routine vaccinations and health certificates and register them to be on base property. Additional services include heartworm testing, ID microchips, diagnostics and prevention of other diseases and pet supplies. Pets are seen by appointment only; call to make an appointment. If your pet is injured or seriously ill, take it to an off-base veterinarian. A 24-hour Pet Emergency Clinic is located at 21 E. Mission Ave. in downtown Spokane. Call 326-6670.

The military lifestyle presents individuals and families with a unique set of challenges and responsibilities. The Airman & Family Readiness Center supports and maintains mission readiness by helping families prepare for any kind of demand, throughout activation, mobilization, deployment and beyond. The proactive, preventative and remedial programs are available to DOD military and civilian personnel and families, including Guard and Reserve, other eligible uniformed members, military retirees, eligible family members and annuitants.
