Dr. Elizabeth Strychalski joined DARPA in 2015 as a Program Manager in the Biological Technologies Office. She is interested in applying insights and methods from physics, control theory, and mathematics to understand complex biological systems and transform environments.
Dr. Strychalski is on loan to DARPA from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, where her research supports U.S. economic competitiveness by building the metrology framework for synthetic biology.
Dr. Strychalski holds Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Physics and Religion respectively from the University of Rochester, and Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Physics from Cornell University. She has 14 technical publications and holds four patents at the intersection of nanotechnology, biopolymers, and analytical chemistry.
