The Operations Law section generally refers to legal rules applicable in actual military operations. It is normally defined as that body of domestic, foreign and international law that impacts the activities of U. S. Armed Forces in war and operations other than war.
Commanders must ensure their personnel are trained to comply with the Law of Armed Conflict (LOAC). All military personnel must accomplish this training every 20 months.
