Diversity & Inclusion
The Air Force has always valued diversity, even calling it a military necessity. Air Force Materiel Command is proud that its workforce is a vital part of that.
As Gen. Ellen Pawlikowski, AFMC commander, has said, "Diversity and Inclusion is critical to AFMC fulfilling our mission to deliver and support agile war-winning capabilities. Diversity includes not only our visual differences but also our cognitive differences, cultural differences, unique backgrounds and varied experiences. Inclusion works to leverage all of these unique qualities and diverse perspectives for the betterment of the organization. Employing D&I principles helps to ensure all AFMC members are able to connect and contribute to our mission."

Senior Leader Viewpoints
Gen. Mark A. Welsh, Air Force Chief of Staff
"The greatest strength of our Air Force is our Airmen! The greatest strength of our Airmen is their diversity! Each of them comes from a different background, a different family experience and a different social experience. Each brings a different set of skills and a unique perspective to the team. We don't just celebrate diversity...we embrace it!"
Chief Master Sgt. James A. Cody, Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force
"The men and women serving in the U.S. Air Force are representative of the diversity of our nation. We value this diversity and it's one of our greatest strengths; our Airmen come together to produce an incredible team that can accomplish any mission and overcome any challenge. The uniqueness of these Airmen and the ability to leverage this uniqueness over time will ensure we remain the world's greatest Air Force."
