11/7/2016 - San Juan, Puerto Rico -- As part of the 156th Airlift Wing's professional development program, 11 women airmen attended a unique summit called ANIMUS Women's Innovation Journey 2016, hosted recently at the Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan, PR.

The ANIMUS conference was created to inspire women to seek their highest level of personal and professional development by providing content, perspectives, and strategies concerning personal development, career development, and entrepreneurship.

Project manager for the opportunity, Technical Sergeant Stephany Guzman Colon, sought and received support from PRANG leadership to make the attendance possible. The women who attended fully embraced the opportunity to interact with other leaders from the Puerto Rico business world in a civilian professional environment. They plan bring their learning and lessons back to the military unit to help improve the mission.

"These outstanding warriors, and many more like them, represent a bright future for the 156th Airlift Wing." said Col. Edward Vaughan, 156th AW commander. "Our mission of delivering Airpower for America is only possible when we first invest resources in developing all of our American Airmen--women and men--to reach their fullest potential."

Guest speakers at the conference, included local and international women leaders, entrepreneurs and community activists who dedicate their lives in creating a positive social change. United States Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor was the honored guest for the event, who in a Q&A session, shared her success story and tips on how to achieve one's goals.
