176th Wing Insignia

The 176th Wing needs committed team members and leaders to help:

  • Support U.S. national security objectives
  • Protect life and property
  • Preserve peace, order
    and public safety
  • Participate in local, state and national programs
    that add value to America

You need:

  • A meaningful part-time job
  • Some of the best job training in the country
  • Real work and leadership experience
  • Money for education
  • The opportunity to travel
  • To network and make connections
  • To be part of something bigger than yourself
  • To make a difference

Let's talk!

The 176th Wing is always interested in new members. We'd love to talk with you.

I need to make sure I have all the right information before I make a decision. What should I do first?
Your first step is to check out some of the benefits available. This will help you decide if the Guard is right for you.

Done. Now what?
Next, contact a member of the recruiting team. You will not be "pressured" or anything like that. A recruiter is an expert who can fully explain:

  • What jobs we currently have open
  • More about the benefits available to Wing members
  • How to prepare for and pursue a full- or part-time career as a Guard member

OK, so how do I contact a recruiter?

If you'd like to ask questions and chat face-to-face, feel free to drop by one of our recruiting offices.

Undergraduate Pilot Training. Want to be an Alaska Air National Guard pilot? These professional flying positions require a high level of training. Find out more at this link.

Full-time job openings: In addition to its "traditional" (that is, part-time) workforce, the 176th Wing also has some full-time employees. These employees fall into two categories:

* Active Guard Reserve (AGR) employees are paid according to their rank and time in service, like members of the active-duty Air Force. Active Guard Reserve (AGR) vacancies

* Technicians are federal employees, and thus are paid according to the federal civilian pay scale. A technician is similar in many ways to a federal civilian employee. The main differences are that (a) they wear the normal military uniform on the job; and (b) to be eligible for a technician position, a person must also have or take a regular "traditional" position with the Air National Guard.
