9th Battalion, Western Sector, USMEPCOM
The 9th Battalion commander also serves as the commander of the Dallas Military Entrance Processing Station and is responsible for the command and control of the Amarillo, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, and San Antonio Military Entrance Processing Stations.
USMEPCOM established battalions on April 15, 2011, to bring the command in line with established military standards for command span of control, to facilitate stronger mentoring for MEPS commanders and senior enlisted advisors, and to improve coordination and cooperation between USMEPCOM and the Interservice Recruiting Committees.
