12th Battalion, Eastern Sector, USMEPCOM

The 12th Battalion commander also serves as the commander of the Baltimore Military Entrance Processing Station and is responsible for the command and control of the Baltimore, Beckley, Charlotte, Fort Jackson, Fort Lee, and Raleigh Military Entrance Processing Stations.

USMEPCOM established battalions on April 15, 2011, to bring the command in line with established military standards for command span of control, to facilitate stronger mentoring for MEPS commanders and senior enlisted advisors, and to improve coordination and cooperation between USMEPCOM and the Interservice Recruiting Committees.
