November: Warrior Care Awareness Month

On November 5, 2008, then Secretary of Defense Robert F. Gates established November as Warrior Care Month, declaring it to be an opportunity for the Department of Defense to honor the courage of wounded, ill, or injured service members, and to highlight the programs that help them learn new life skills that enable them to return to duty or transition from the military.
