10/5/2016 - JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- The members of the 176th Civil Engineer Squadron welcomed their new commander at an assumption of command ceremony here Sep. 24.
Lt. Col. Kass Larson came to the Alaska Air National Guard's 176th Wing from the National Guard Bureau, bringing with him years of high-dollar project management and leadership experience.
"It's an honor to be here today," Larson said at the ceremony after accepting responsibility for the squadron. "It's something I look forward to."
For a squadron built on logic, Larson was the logical choice, according to Col. Marvin Ee, the 176th Mission Support Group commander and presiding officer of the ceremony.
"He's at the top," Ee said of Larson. "He brings his results, his ingenuity, his humility. We brought in a ringer."
The previous commander, Lt. Col. Jack Evans, is serving in the Alaska Air Guard's 168th Wing as the 168th Mission Support Group commander.
