VA loan program set a new all-time record for mortgages in fiscal year 2016. VA backed more than 707,000 home loans, a 12% increase from last year and nearly double the volume from five years ago.
Veteran Unemployment Rate
In October, the unemployment rate for all Veterans remained 4.3%. The national unemployment rate decreased slightly to 4.9%. The greatest gains were in the business, healthcare and financial sectors.
