World Statistics Day 2015 LogoWe Celebrate World Statistics Day 2015

In the United States, we value federal statistics as a public good. Our federal statistical system is decentralized, spanning 127 agencies spread across the government, all of which are engaged in collecting data and producing statistics. These 14 agencies have statistical work as their principal mission and make up the Interagency Council for Statistical Policy.

For a complete list of all statistical agencies that spend appropriated federal funds on a Statistical Unit, please visit the AGENCIES section of this website. Included are the 14 agencies in the Interagency Council on Statistical Policy (ICSP) which are the 13 Principal Agencies plus EPA’s Statistical Unit. The full list is reviewed annually by OMB and published in the “Statistical Programs of the United States Government” Blue Book.
