World Population Clock – U.S. Census Bureau
The clock is an estimate of world population, by country, and an indication of how fast it is growing. The world population reached 7 billion in 2012 and the Census Bureau projects it will reach 8 billion in 2025 based on analysis of available data on population, fertility, mortality, and migration. As new data become available, all data are reevaluated and past conclusions may change.

International Trade and Investment Country Facts – Bureau of Economic Analysis
International Trade and Investment Country Facts Application gives users a snapshot of statistics on trade and investment between the United States and another country by simply clicking on a world map. These fast facts at your fingertips can include total exports, imports and trade balance between the United States and the country you select; the top five categories of goods and services the United States buys from and sells to that country; and country level data on U.S. direct investment abroad and foreign direct investment in the United States and on the activities of multinational enterprises such as employment and sales.

International Energy Portal – Energy Information Administration
Explore world energy data from EIA through an interactive query tool with 92,836 time series covering 391 variables in U.S. and metric units. All user generated maps and charts can be embedded on any web or intranet site by copying a single embed code, creating rich interactive content that is always up to date. The portal also includes 97 country and region briefs, providing in-depth analysis from EIA energy experts.

Hurricane Maps – Bureau of Labor Statistics
The Bureau of Labor Statistics now has hurricane flood zone maps and tables available to help assess the potential economic impact of a major weather event along the U.S. coastline. These maps help emergency planners, first responders, and community aid groups determine the potential impact of a hurricane on jobs and businesses. Until now, maps like this were only created after a severe weather event had already occurred.

Causes of Flight Delays – Bureau of Transportation Statistics
This interactive web page enables users to examine the causes of flight delays. Dropdowns allow users to find arrival numbers for individual airports, airlines and airlines at specific airports. Users can also find weather’s share of delayed flights.

Food Access Research Atlas – Economic Research Service
The Food Access Research Atlas is an online mapping tool that provides a spatial overview of food access indicators for low-income and other neighborhoods by U.S. Census tract. You can create maps, view indicators, and download data.

NAEP (National Assessment of Education Progress) Data Explorer – National Center for Education Statistics
This tool can be used to create statistical tables, charts, and maps. It also allows for the exploration of the results of decades of student assessments, as well as information about factors that may be related to their learning. Available information includes national and state results in 10 subject areas, including mathematics, reading, writing, and science, long-term trends in mathematics and reading results, and course-taking and grade point average for students who graduated high school.

Vital Statistics Rapid Release (VSRR) – National Center for Health Statistics
The new VSRR program provides access to the most timely vital statistics for public health surveillance, through 1) pilot releases of Quarterly Provisional Estimates and 2) Special Reports based on a current flow of vital statistics data from state vital records offices. Using the provisional data, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) is able to produce much more timely estimates of important health indicators for public health practitioners, researchers, and health policy-makers than would be possible using final annual data.

The Census of Agriculture – National Agricultural Statistics Service
The Census of Agriculture provides a detailed picture every five years of U.S. farms and ranches and the people who operate them. Conducted by USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, the 2012 Census of Agriculture collected more than six million data items directly from farmers. The Ag Census Web Maps application makes this information available at the county level through a few clicks. The maps and accompanying data help users visualize, download, and analyze many elements of the Census of Agriculture data in a geospatial context for more than 3,000 counties.

NCHS Data Visualization Gallery – National Center for Health Statistics
Visualizing the nation’s health, the NCHS Data Visualization Gallery displays U.S. mortality trends since 1900, births and birth rates since 1909, leading causes of death since 1999, and other trends in vital statistics. Charts, graphs, and maps highlight patterns, trends, and rates by selected demographic characteristics.

TRI Pollution Prevention (P2) Search Tool – Office of Environmental Information
EPA’s Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Program collects data on what industrial facilities are doing to reduce toxic chemical releases into the environment and prevent pollution at the source. The TRI P2 Search Tool provides graphical representations of facilities’ P2 data and written details about effective P2 activities, helping communities to identify facilities with the best environmental performance and allowing facilities to learn from the best practices of others. This Web-based tool can be a powerful way to identify candidates for recognition, assistance or community focus.

NCVS Victimization Analysis Tool (NVAT) – Bureau of Justice Statistics
This dynamic analysis tool allows you to examine National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) data on both violent and property victimization by select victim, household, and incident characteristics.

Tax Stats Table Wizard – Statistics of Income
The tax-related statistics available by using SOI’s Tax Stats Wizard include data on corporations; tax-exempt organizations; estates, gifts, and trusts; and internal tax statistics. There are two types of data available: 1) aggregated data and 2) public-use micro data. The aggregated data have been formatted to prevent the disclosure of private taxpayer information. The micro data are not subject to disclosure concerns.

Academic Institution Profiles – National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics
Academic institution profiles present selected data on individual institutions and rankings for doctorates, graduate students, funding and expenditures from four NCSES surveys.

Use the tool to find summary-level information, including chemical releases, pollution prevention activities, and compliance history. Provided in English and Spanish.

FastStats – National Center for Health Statistics
FastStats is an official application from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and puts access to topic-specific statistics at your fingertips. Topics include diseases and conditions, family life, health care and insurance, health status and risk factors, injuries, life stages and populations and reproductive health. This website has the key indicators of the condition of education in the United States. These indicators summarize important developments and trends using the latest statistics and are updated as data become available. A congressionally mandated annual report on these indicators is provided to the White House and Congress each year.
