EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – Under clear skies April 23, the Edwards Little League season opened at Wenning Field with Col. Darrell Riggs, 95th Mission Support Group commander, throwing out the first pitch to Diamondbacks catcher, Miranda Brader. There are 148 players on 13 teams playing this 2010 season at Edwards. The Devil Rays won the first game of the season in three innings 10 – 9.

Emil Graves, 95th Family Support Services Youth Sports and Fitness director, said there are still openings for players who have not signed up yet to play this season. “Our main goal is to provide activities for Edwards' youth. With the constant turn-over of servicemembers comes the constant turn-over of youth. Thus, there is no closing date for sign-ups,” he said.
