Mamaroneck and Sheldrake Rivers

Mamaroneck & Sheldrake Rivers Basin

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District is currently conducting a General Re-evaluation Study on the Mamaroneck-Sheldrake Rivers Basin in the Village of Mamaroneck, New York.  This study is to re-evaluate the plan authorized by Congress in the Water Resources Development Act of 1986 and the design as detailed in the General Design Memorandum of 1989. This re-evaluation study is required because considerable engineering, hydrological, hydraulic, economic and environmental data has changed in the basin in the last 20-30 years. The Study will be completed in 2016 with a General Re-evaluation Report (GRR) that will be submitted to Congress.

The Study is being cost shared between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (75%) and the contributing non-Federal sponsors (25%): New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and Westchester County Department of Planning.

For more information, please read the Fact Sheet or you contact the Project Manager if you have any questions regarding the Study.
