NFIP Biological Opinion - Erratta 2

On September 22, 2008, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) issued a Biological Opinion that noted that continued implementation of the NFIP in the Puget Sound adversely affects the habitat of certain threatened and endangered species.  The opinion required changes to the implementation of the National Flood Insurance Program in order to meet the requirements of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) in the Puget Sound watershed. FEMA Region X has put together an implementation plan that allows communities to apply the performance standards contained in the NFIP Biological Opinion for Puget Sound by implementing a Model Ordinance, a Programmatic Checklist, or on a permit by permit basis as long as it can be demonstrated that there is no adverse effect to listed species.  This Erratta sheet provides corrections to the Biological Opinion.
