Command Master Chief
Anderson enlisted in the Navy on 21 April 1987. He completed recruit training in Orlando,
Florida in June 1987. After graduating
from YN “A” School, he accepted orders to USS WILLIAM V. PRATT (DDG 44), “The
Proud Fox” home ported in Charleston, South Carolina in August 1987 – April
1991. During his tour he served as
Ship’s Secretary, Leading Petty Officer and qualified as Enlisted Surface
Warfare Specialists. In 1991, he
received training at Fort McClellan, Alabama at the Correctional Custody
Specialist Ashore School and awarded the (9575) NEC and his follow on
assignment was COMNAVBRIGCHASN SC, as a correctional Officer, Cell Block
Supervisor and Executive Assistant.
During his tour at NAVCONBRIGCHASN SC, he qualified as a Correctional
Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T) member.
In July 1994, he reported to United States Forces Korea (USFK) Protocol
in Seoul, Yongsan, Korea, where he served as LPO and was responsible for
preparing briefings on all incoming VIPs for United States Forces Korea (USFK)
and Eighth United States Army, Head Quarters (EUSA HQ). In 1996, he reported to USS NIMITZ (CVN 68),
served as Leading Petty Officer and during his tour he qualified Enlisted
Aviation Warfare Specialist and Damage Control Training Team (DCTT) member.
In
1998, he reported to Personnel Support Detachment (PSD) Millington, TN and
served as Admin Officer, LCPO Local and outlying commands. He also attended the Naval Legal Justice
School in Norfolk, VA. Upon completion
of his tour, in 2003, he was assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile
Unit THREE as Admin Officer and LCPO, San Diego, CA. In 2006, he reported to Recruit Training
Command (RTC) Great Lakes, IL as a Recruit Division Commander (RDC), attended
Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) and awarded the (9502) NEC and graduated
RDC “C” school and awarded the (9508) NEC, during his tour he obtained his
Master Training Specialists (MTS) designation and Ship’s Training Team (STT)
qualification. While at RTC Great Lakes,
he served as Ship 5 LCPO, Admin LCPO and Admin Officer at RTC Headquarters.
Command
Master Chief Anderson is a graduate of Naval Senior Leader Seminar (NSLS),
Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), Monterey CA, KEYSTONE 14-1, Command Senior
Enlisted Leader Course in Joint and Combined studies at the National Defense
University and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Executive
Leadership Symposium (ELS) for Senior Enlisted Leaders.
