Environmental Assessment for Midpines Fire Station, Mariposa County, Mariposa, CA (February 2011)

The Mariposa County Fire Department (MCFD) in the unincorporated community of Midpines is an all-risk volunteer fire department serving a rural population dispersed over 1,451 square miles from twelve community-based fire stations. All of MCFD’s fire stations were built using funds raised in the local communities which they serve, prior to the adoption of current building codes, often using substandard building materials and volunteer labor not particularly adept in the building trades. This EA has been prepared in accordance with NEPA, the President’s Council on Environmental Quality regulations to implement NEPA (40 CFR Parts 1500-1508), and FEMA’s regulations for the implementation of NEPA (44 CFR Part 10).
