The 39th MXS supports the 39th ABW, U.S., NATO and U.S. European Command Southern Region with intermediate-level aircraft maintenance, conventional munitions and war reserve material in support of Overseas Contingency Operations.

The squadron provides munitions for weapons training deployments, ensures compliance with surety mission requirements and provides transient aircraft servicing and crash damaged or disabled aircraft recovery operations.
