Rocketman Night Jump Set For Saturday

As the sun fades over Lake Grew in Polk City, Fla., on Saturday, the world's best jumpers will be going head-to-head at the Rocketman Night Jump. Fluid Ski & Sports will once again host the tournament and promises a night not to be missed. In addition to $25,000 in prize money, Huston Motors of Lake Wales is providing extra incentive for a world record – the keys to a Kia Soul or GMC Sierra will be given to any skier who can eclipse the current world record, while Nautique is offering a $10,000 bonus for a new world record.

Field Set For Collegiate Nationals

Twenty-three of the nation's top collegiate water ski teams will compete in the 34th Collegiate Water Ski National Championships, Oct. 18-20, at TriLakes in Zachary, La. A live Webcast will be available for viewing at www.waterskibroadcasting.com.

35+ Worlds Set For Oct. 25-28

The U.S. 35+ Water Ski Team and 32 U.S. independent water ski athletes will compete in the 2012 35+ Water Ski World Championships, Oct. 25-28, in Chapala, Mexico. In addition to the coveted overall team title, athletes will compete for titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall at the biennial event.

SCPB To Host 2013 AWSA Nationals

USA Water Ski and the American Water Ski Association are pleased to announce the GOODE Water Ski National Championships will return to Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach, Fla., for a second consecutive year in 2013. The tentative dates are Aug. 13-17. The Ski Club of The Palm Beaches will serve as the local organizing committee and host of the Nationals.

Cable Wakeboard Team Seeks Riders

USA Wakeboard has openings for riders to compete in the upcoming IWWF Cable Wakeboard World Championships, scheduled for Nov. 4-11, in Clark, Pampanga, Philippines. This event will showcase cable wakeboard to the International Olympic Committee as cable wakeboard is one of eight sports under consideration for 2020 Olympic Games inclusion.  This event is expected to attract wide international competition with many participating countries.

Athletes Of The Month Selected

USA Water Ski has selected Keith St. Onge (Winter Haven, Fla.) and Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) as its Male Athlete of the Month and Female Athlete of the Month, respectively, for September. The U.S. Elite Water Ski Team was selected USA Water Ski’s Team of the Month. St. Onge, Jaquess and the U.S. Elite Water Ski Team are now eligible for the United States Olympic Committee’s Athlete of the Month and Team of the Month honors.

14 Riders Win USA Wakeboard Titles

Fourteen riders won titles at the 14th USA Wakeboard Nationals, Sept. 21-22, on Lake Gaston in Littleton, N.C. The USA Wakeboard Nationals, held in conjunction with USA Wakeboard and AF Wake, was open to men and women of all ages and all levels of riding. The event was part of USA Water Ski’s National Championships Series of Events.
