During Blue Chromite U.S. Marines and Sailors trained and lived together on the USS Green Bay (LPD 20) embracing the "Ship Life." Blue Chromite is a U.S.–only exercise which strengthens the Navy-Marine Corps expeditionary, amphibious rapid-response capabilities based in Okinawa and the greater Indo-Asia-Pacific region. Twenty one Marines reenlisted all at once Oct. 27, 2016 at Camp Foster Okinawa, Japan. Monitors and career planners from Manpower Management Division Enlisted Assignments, Headquarters United States Marine Corps, visited Okinawa to help Marines progress in their Marine Corps path.
