Blue Chromite is a U.S.–only exercise which strengthens the Navy-Marine Corps expeditionary, amphibious rapid-response capabilities based in Okinawa and the greater Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

U.S. Marines and Sailors with Task Force Koa Moana 16-4 integrated with the Vanuatu Mobile Force to aid in renovating a school that was damaged in Port Vila, Vanuatu, Oct. 26, 2016. Marines teamed up with the Vanuatu Mobile Force to renovate the school after it was degraded by Cyclone Pam last year. The Koa Moana exercise seeks to enhance senior leader engagements between allied and partner nations in the Pacific with a collective interest in relations and to discuss key aspects of operations, capability development and interoperability in the South Pacific.
