1958-1975

Activated 1 May 1958 at Camp Courtney, Okinawa, as 3D Force Service Regiment, 3D Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force

Relocated During November 1961 to Camp Sukiran, Okinawa

Detached during August 1965 from the 3D Marine Division, and placed under operational control of the Commanding General, Fleet Marine Force, Pacific

Elements participated in the war in Vietnam, 1965-1966

Camp Sukiran (Marine Area) rededicated 29 December 1966 as Camp Foster 

1976-1991

Redesignated 6 March 1976 as 3D Force Service Support Group, Fleet Marine Force, Pacific

Relocated during October 1978 to Makiminato Service Area, Okinawa 

Camp Makiminato rededicated 21 January 1980 as Camp Kinser

Elements participated in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Southwest Asia, August 1990 - April 1991

Elements participated in Operation Fiery Vigil, Philippines, Operation Sea Angel, Bangladesh, and Operation Provide Comfort, Iraq, April – July 1991 

1992 – Present

Element participated in Operation Restore Hope, Somalia, December 1992 – May 1993 

Element participated in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Philippines, Afghanistan, Horn of Africa, and Iraq, November 2002 and into 2005 

Participated in Operation Unified Assistance, Sri Lanka and Thailand in response to tsunami disaster, December 2004 – February 2005 

Redesignated 31 October 2005 as 3d Marine Logistics Group 

Currently participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq and Operation Enduring Freedom, Philippines, Afghanistan, Horn of Africa, and Iraq
