Donald Harlow

Donald Harlow is a native of Northern Virginia.  He graduated from George Mason University and was commissioned a second lieutenant via the Platoon Leaders Course in May 1998.  After The Basic School, he attended the Ground Supply Officers Course in Camp Johnson, NC.  Upon graduation, Lieutenant Harlow reported to CSSD-21 at MCAS Cherry Point, NC, for duty as the Supply Officer and Executive Officer.

In November 2001, Captain Harlow reported to Marine Corps Base Quantico for duty as the Plans and Operations Officer for the Logistics Division.  In February 2003, he deployed as an Individual Augment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and served as the Executive Officer for CSSC-133 at Ali Al Salem, Kuwait.  Upon return to Quantico, Captain Harlow was appointed as the Head of the Logistics Division’s Materiel Readiness Branch.

Captain Harlow attended the Expeditionary Warfare School from 2004 – 2005.  Upon graduation, he reported to 8th Communication Battalion in Camp Lejeune, NC, for duty as the Supply Officer.  He deployed to Camp Fallujah, Iraq, in support of OIF 04-06.  From June 2007 to June 2008, Captain Harlow commanded the battalion’s Service Company.

In July 2008, Captain Harlow reported to Supply School at Camp Johnson, NC, for duty as the Executive Officer.  In November 2009, Major Harlow deployed to Iraq as a team member of the Marine Corps Center for Lessons Learned to conduct an assessment of the MAGTF’s Responsible Drawdown.

In July 2010, Major Harlow reported to the Defense Logistics Agency, Land and Maritime, in Columbus, OH, for joint duty as the U.S. Army and Marine Corps Operational Forces Deputy Division Chief.  From May to November 2011, Major Harlow deployed to Afghanistan as a DLA Detachment Commander in support of logistics operations in RC-South/Southwest.  Upon return to Columbus, he was appointed as the Readiness Division Chief for Land and Maritime.

From July 2013 to June 2014, Major Harlow attended the U.S. Army’s Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.  While there, he was selected for the German Armed Forces Exchange Program.  Upon graduation, he reported to III MEF in Okinawa, Japan, for duty as the Korea Theater of Operations Planner for the G-4.

Lieutenant Colonel Harlow’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (second award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (third award), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (second award).
