The Material Data Management Consortium (MDMC) is a collaboration between ASM International, Granta Design Ltd, NASA Glenn Research Center and materials-oriented corporations and government agencies in the US aerospace and defense industries to develop software systems for managing materials information.
Each member is using the consortium to meet their own specific in-house goals by generating solutions to their own problems. At the same time, each member benefits from the ideas and funding of the other members to solve common issues. The overall objective of the consortium is to increase return on investment for materials research and development. It is doing this by:
- Increasing the quality and traceability of materials data within each member organization.
- Increasing the efficiency of materials data management and analysis within each member organization: saving considerable time and money, and increasing competitiveness.
- Data mining and data publishing: providing corporate material information customers with the data they need, when they need it, in the format they need.
MDMC members can use CES Web and Materials Data Network for materials engineering information.
