The Government Electronics & Information Technology Association (GEIA) will host its 39th annual Engineering and Technical Management Conference at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta on Peachtree Street, from September 19 - 23, 2005. This year's conference theme "Global Information: Shaping Tomorrow Today!" underscores the significant opportunities taking place in the defense, electronics and information technology industries as they seek to vastly improve the information flow to the war fighter.
The objective of Atlanta 2005 is to bring together professionals in the areas of: Systems Engineering, Data & Configuration Management, and Information Technology. Our focus is on solving problems, removing barriers to effective systems, communication of information, and integration of processes to achieve systems and data interoperability. These efforts are achieved via joint collaboration of the GEIA G-47 Systems Engineering and G-33 Configuration/Data Management committees. The conference will include familiarization training in CM & DM, displays and vendors, and workshop-style interaction with subject matter experts in the above disciplines.
This conference is aimed at managers and professionals working in: systems integration, systems engineering, configuration management, data management, information management, process management, technology integration, and logistics support. It will provide timely insight into topics of relevance to these professionals and the current business environment in which they are operating, both commercial and defense. The conference will provide benefits to both industry and government employees, and foster a cooperative environment for sharing insights with others and discussing focus issues. This collective activity leads to participants gaining a synergy in learning and practical solutions for today's needs. Professionals with relatively little experience are invited to participate and learn from our on-sight training sessions, while those with more experience are encouraged to join in the working panels to achieve conference products/output that will benefit many in our fields of endeavor.
If you are a manager or professional seeking a venue to share your ideas, network with your customers and suppliers, discuss new concepts and collectively learn; then you need to reserve September 19-23, 2005 on your calendar now and make sure to attend this conference. Don't miss your opportunity to join the many professionals attending this annual Conference. Interact with representatives from Private Industry and Government Agencies and the Department of Homeland Security who are instrumental in resolving topics in such areas as: Configuration Management, Data Management, Unique Identification, Information Sharing Strategies, Complex Systems Schema, Systems Engineering as well as related industry standards.
Following the conference, the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA), Technical Information Committee will offer their CDM certification beginning on Friday, September 23rd, 2005 in the mid morning, ending with the certification examination on Sunday, September 25th, 2005 in the late afternoon. A separate registration with NDIA is required.
