Laughlin XLer: Craig Alexander

Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas --

Unit and job title: 47th Civil Engineer Squadron fire department health and safety assistant chief

Why he XLed: Alexander managed 13 programs and ensured 100 percent compliance during a unit effectiveness inspection where the Air Education and Training Command fire chief found zero discrepancies. He filled senior fire officer staff shortages as the assistant chief of operations preventing a drop to critical level of service and saved the Air Force $1,000 in overtime costs. He also supervised the 47th Flying Training Wing commander and command chief structural firefighting visit which allowed them to conduct a live fire exercise and gain insight to the firefighter positions. Lastly, Alexander was senior facility manager who cared and maintained four facilities where there were no findings in a local staff assistance visit.
