SIGNALS INTELLIGENCE
Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) is the act of intelligence gathering through the interception of signals. The SIGINT community in the Marine Corps consists of many different Military Occupational Specialties (MOS). The Marine Corps Detachment at Goodfellow Air Force Base offers Signals Intelligence training in the following areas:
Tactical SIGINT Operator's Course
Provides instruction to all 26XX Marines on the performance of collection missions utilizing currently fielded Marine Corps Programs of Record (POR) equipment and other SIGINT assets. Instills common collection skills and basic operations of SIGINT systems.
Marine Analysis and Reporting Course
Train 26XX Marines in the knowledge and skills required for duties as a SIGINT Analyst (2629). Course emphasis is on the Cryptologic and Intelligence Community, SIGINT analysis, traffic analysis, cryptanalysis, battlespace preparation and SIGINT reporting. Marines
will receive training on currently fielded Analysis and Reporting Systems and software.
Cryptologic Language Courses
Introduce entry level cryptolinguists to skill sets relevant to USMC SIGINT mission accomplishment and the common cryptologic critical tasks performed at the national, operational and tactical levels. Skill sets taught
expose Marines to a variety of possible targets with no specific focus on individual objectives or countries, thus providing situational versatility and adaptability to the Marine. Critical tasks taught include security, general
intelligence, national intelligence community, the SIGINT system, reporting, and tactical support.
