The I.G. Brown TEC Public Affairs is tasked with keeping the military, the public and the news media informed about the TEC missions, training and assigned personnel. It manages the command information, community relations and media relations programs as a tenant unit at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base. Public Affairs also encompasses all TEC photography and news writing as well as television broadcasting. These products are published locally and nationally in support of TEC and the National Guard Bureau.
The most visible products of our command information program are the TEC Web site (www.angtec.ang.af.mil) and the ANG TEC/TV Facebook page. Public Affairs also works closely with NGB to report joint news through the Minuteman Report. The Minuteman Report focuses on Army and Air National Guard missions, their Citizen-Soldiers and -Airmen and is distributed through joint service Web sites and social media outlets.
Our Public Affairs broadcasters provide technical support for the TEC TV's Warrior Network and its blended learning, satellite professional military education and training programs, which are broadcast to more than 180 downlink sites, nationwide.
Our broadcasters and photojournalists also provide Public Affairs assistance to the National Guard Bureau during state and national emergencies, senior leadership and strategic planning conferences and special events.
Our community and media relations engages Knoxville-area citizens on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains of Eastern Tennessee - bridging the gap between the National Guard and residents of communities surrounding our TEC campus.
Supporting news media interest to tell our story, Public Affairs' responsibilities include arranging interviews with subject matter experts, answering queries and serving as the official spokespersons for TEC missions, training and personnel. |

We are looking for exceptional Army and Air National Guard stories that highlight areas of interest from each of your bases or posts. We will accept a news story in any news format. If you have a full TV news package, great! If you have 15-30 seconds of b-roll, great! If you have an interview, great! If all you have are a few photos with a print story, that's great as well! All you have to do is send us the story (or b-roll, photos) with a script and information on who was interviewed in the story.
