Uses

  • Evaluate and compare the relative performance of materials and surfcae coating based on their ability to aid in ice removal
  • Test the effectiveness of de-icing methods
  • Repeat testing to measure durability 

Features

  • Test cylinders are 1 inch (diameter) x 3 inches and made of (or coated with) materials of interest
  • -5º to -25ºC
  • Feedback-controlled universal testing mahine offers choice of cross-head speed (typical speed: 0.06 mm/min)
  • Surface roughness measurements available
