IRO - promoting global research cooperation
Mission
Located in London, England, the International Research Office of the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) promotes cooperation with the international research community as a means to advance science and engineering knowledge and technical capabilities in areas relevant to the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Aligned with the USACE Campaign Plan, ERDC’s research and development (R&D) efforts focus on five primary areas in support of Army transformation and its civil works activities: Warfighter Support, Installations, Environment, Water Resources, and Information Technology.
The IRO is responsible for establishing links to international R&D efforts that can add value to research programs within each of the ERDC business areas:

Our capabilities and facilities are available to assist you in addressing and solving a variety of research and engineering challenges. The IRO promotes R&D opportunities through: support for travel by experts; support for focused technical workshops; support for international conferences; and research contracting.
