The presentation focused on the Naval Open Architecture (OA) Program and how the Navy, working in cooperation with other services and the Office of the Secretary of Defense, is approaching open architectures. The presentation includes actions being taken by the Navy to develop a set of principles, processes and best practices aimed at joint modular, affordable and interoperable systems. While the principles were discussed in terms of Naval applications, they apply to other DoD Armed Services and Agencies as well.
